Selection policy

In the wake of the Brussels attacks, there have been many voices bemoaning the way that Brits and the British media in particular respond to terrorist atrocities around the world. As a veteran BBC correspondent of considerable stature, however, John Simpson's verdict is especially significant - and especially damning: he's accused the press of "grotesquely selective" reporting, expressing anger at the way in which world events are deemed newsworthy or otherwise.
